For those who couldn’t hear Liz’s vows, here they are in their entirety.

My Curtie Poo, you were my first friend in California, and you have been my best friend for 15 years. I remember the first time I doodled Elizabeth Minerd on my notebook in tenth grade and now I get to spend the rest of my life signing Elizabeth Minerd.

I promise to love you even when you are insubordinate and I promise to try not to nag you. I promise to never again talk about wedding stuff either before or after 9 am. I promise to wikkie to make you laugh when you have a rough day.

I promise to love you everyday as much as I love you today.

For those who couldn’t hear Curt’s vows, here they are in its entirety.

Liz, I think Socrates has the perfect phrase to summarize this moment, “Oh my god, this wedding is freakin’ sweet.” And then later the keg stands we are gonna get your dad to do will be totally epic.

In all seriousness, to capture how incredible our shared lives have been is a monumental task. We shared so many memories: unforgettable triumphs and accomplishments, debilitating disappointments and shortcomings. A great sports coach from my past once said, “A person’s true character is shown in the face of adversity.” My own character finds strength in you, in your smile, your tenacity, and yes your intensity. I worry just what kind of person I would be without you. But thankfully you said yes, taken me as is without promise of store credit or refund. And in exchange I get to bask in your beauty and loyalty.

We all know there is only so much time to make our dreams come true.

I only have so much time to sit around and waste away with you.

But when we are gone and ash

i want to say this meant the world to me.

And I will feel complete when you say it meant the world to you.

I love you.

Kid’s Meal and Childcare Available

For those parents with munchkins under 12, the hotel will have a kid’s meal available for dinner and we are offering childcare at the hotel for the evening as well! Send Curt a note and we’ll keep you informed as the details are worked out.

So our invites are out and we are already receiving RSVP cards! To tempt your palate, here is the full menu we’ll be enjoying at the reception:

Appetizer:
Brie Soup “Jean Lafont”

Salad:
Arugula, Shaved Fennel, Balsamic Vinegar and Parmesan

Entree:
Choice of:
(1) Roasted Halibut, Pancetta, Potatoes, Asparagus and Lemon
or
(2) Grilled Tenderloin, Wild Mushrooms, Scalloped Potatoes, Green Beans and Shallots

Vegetarian option available.

I can tell you from our tasting that everything is EXCELLENT. See you June 5!

San Diego To-Do

Liz and I are thrilled to have so many out-of-town guests for our wedding. I thought we would make some suggestions if anyone is spending some time in southern California.

-San Diego Zoo (downtown) and San Diego Wild Animal Park (North County). Both world renowned zoos, highly recommend them.

-Sea World (Mission Bay). I am always amazed at the cost, but considering you get to see Shamu, well worth it.

-Balboa Park, nice museums and all around great place for a green stroll.

-Pacific Beach. Trendy beach boardwalk by day, fantastic beach bar/club-hopping by night.

-Torrey Pines Reserve. Not to be confused with the golf course, the nature reserve is a great hike with superb ocean bluff views and a great vertical climb for the outdoorsman.

-Torrey Pines Golf Course. Guests at The Lodge are guaranteed a tee time. Otherwise, prepare to wake up early. Where Tiger “Baker’s Dozen” Woods won the US Open a few years ago.

-Petco Park. Not sure if the Padres will have any home games, but for the baseball fan, Petco is an outstanding newer ballpark. No promise of a home team win though.

-La Jolla Shores/Cove. Popular beach/shopping area. Upscale and shee-shee. The Cove is a nature preserve, so no fishing. But they have some cool seals on the beach.
