Wedding Party
The Girls
Feather Graham, Matron of Honor
As the last name implies… Feather is family! Feather became Liz’s sister (in-law) in July 2007 when she married Liz’s brother Andy. She met Andy over 10 years ago and (if I remember the story correctly) he was wearing a muu-muu. In Andy’s defense… it was a Halloween party! Feather and Andy live in Portland, Oregon now with four little kitties for children.
Jennifer O’Neil, Maid of Honor
Liz met Jennie through Curt’s band, 3against1. Jennie quickly became one of Liz’s closest friends because Jennie is a total sweetheart! Liz and Jennie would hang out at all the band’s shows and get hit on by creepy guys (luckily Jennie had an arsenal of male roommates who came to some of the shows and would protect the girls).
Dana Hermann, Bridesmaid
Liz met Dana during freshman orientation at Cornell. Throughout college Dana and Liz were close friends. Dana and Liz lived together at Cornell for about a year and a half so Dana definitely has some blackmail stories! Most of Liz’s favorite moments from college involved Dana and Liz is thrilled that Dana is able to be a part of her wedding!
Jacqueline Pirro, Bridesmaid
Jacqueline and Liz work together at Reed Smith LLP. They became close friends while being wined and dined as summer associates by “Uncle Reed” Jacqueline and Liz have bonded over everything from silly boys and their mixed messages to dealing with crazy opposing counsel.
The Boys
Mark Shoemaker, Best Man
Curt and Mark have been inseparable since the earth solidified from a molten lava surface, otherwise known as Ms. Sickler’s second grade class at Sunset Hills Elementary. As boys, they would bond over baseball and after school sandwiches with Mountain Dew at Curt’s house, with weekends full of Terminator 2, Street Fighter 2 and pancakes with peanut butter and syrup topping. As they aged their tastes matured, and soon they were snowboarding together hitting on the snow bunnies and playing fart games. As college and “grown-up stuff” has them more apart then they are accustomed to, Curt and Mark have been as close to brothers as possible, short of spitting on each other’s hands.
Eric Engler, Best Man
Eric and Curt’s friendship has grown out of a time in life traditionally full of teenage angst. It was Eric who was responsible for putting Curt in a Surf Soccer uniform, and consequentially it was a defining activity of their high school lives. Eric also holds the honor of getting Curt to pass numerous math classes, trying to steal that big bulldozer with Neil Topliffe and trying to hack the old Compuserve and Prodigy online services for pictures of naked ladies. Most importantly, Eric has been one of Curt’s closest and most selfless companions, and together have been by each others’ side through thick and thin.
Scott Turnoy, Groomsman
Scott and Curt met in a cacophony of noise and electric static, college, fraternities and music. As a complete stranger to the Northwest, Curt began his friendship with Scotty sharing that closest to their hearts: loud righteous rock and roll. It took less than a week before they were on-stage together, blasting away in front of moshing hippies (?) and sorority girls. It was an amazing experience to share music with such an excellent human being. At a time in life when people are thrust on their own into the deep end, Scott and Curt managed to keep an amazing friendship across all angles of campus life and in their transition to the real world.
Eli Block, Groomsman
Eli and Curt began their friendship with a faith in brutal honesty. As fraternity brothers at Whitman, Curt borrowed a computer monitor from Eli, and a few days later discovered a crack. He sheepishly went to Eli to tell him of the damage, and after Eli put Curt on for a couple of minutes, confessed it was already cracked. That bit of honesty when many college kids would tuck tail and run began a very honest and good-natured relationship. After moving out of the Phi house, the two lived in the 905 (9-0-fizzle) party house, and most of their adventures I will leave to your imagination. Eli and Curt have a friendship that is truly, DY-NO-MITE.

Pardon me… I noticed an area lacking description, that being the male attendants. They’re my favorites after all. Hoping for fun anecdotes soon.

Righteous Cacophony! Now why didn’t that come to mind when thinking of band names?
Can’t wait to see you beautiful people in June or sooner!
